With a comprehensive combination of theory and practice, this course builds on the knowledge gained in the Applied Design Technologies Part I course and equips you with advanced knowledge and tools to apply complex graphic design techniques and production processes for the web and mobile devices.
This course addresses graphic design production for the web and mobile devices. Students will learn advanced design techniques for graphics and imagery for such devices and understand how to devise layouts for responsive websites, social media and mobile applications.
Students will gain in-depth knowledge regarding graphic formats, learn advanced features of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and work with wire framing applications used to design for the web and mobile devices. The course also covers ideation techniques.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
On completion of this course, you will have created marketing collateral and UI elements for a fictional start-up.
REQUIREMENTS, ASSIGNMENTS & ASSESSMENT
It is recommended that students complete the online Applied Design Technologies Part I course or have demonstrable experience in these skills before starting this course. Assignments are based on work-based business challenges.
Students will be given course-specific assignments that both reinforce the learning and provide work-based experience of applying new skills. All assignments are subject to a rigorous assessment framework.
Specific assessments for this course include weekly quizzes and a site and applied design assessment.
